How to Use Timers

Vision enables you to quickly add countdowns or stopwatches to your stream overlays. Let your viewers know how much time you spent in a game or when the next quiz starts.

Getting Started

1

Create overlay

Create a new overlay or open an existing one
2

Add Timer Layer

In the left toolbar select “Add Timer” or click on the ”+” icon
3

Position

Drag the timer to your desired location
4

Configure

Choose if you want a Stopwatch or Timer and set the start or end time
5

Customize

Rename your layer or set a custom text
6

Save

Save your overlay and pause or resume the timer via the toolbar over the layer

Letting Your Mods Help

One of Vision’s unique features is collaboration. You can grant your moderators permission to help manage timers.
  1. Go to Permissions → Roles
  2. Use a prebuilt role or create a custom one. Make sure the role has the permission to view & edit overlays
  3. Click on users and invite your moderator

Styling

Vision allows styling all layers, including timers. You can change the font, color, background color, and in-/out-animations. Timer layers also have a Mono-Font, which is used for the numbers in the timer. Via Advanced → Theme you can select one of the other presets or style it the way you want with Custom CSS.

Stream Deck Integration

Vision also supports Stream Deck devices. You can install the Vision Stream Deck Plugin to interact with your overlay layers and modify your timers in real-time.

Chat-Bot

The Vision Chat-Bot feature allows you to create commands that read or modify your timers. For example, you can create a command that pauses the timer when a moderator sends it to chat.
