How to Use Counters

Counters are one of the most popular features for streamers. Whether you’re tracking deaths in a challenging game or counting wins in a tournament, Vision makes it easy.

Getting Started

1

Create overlay

Create a new overlay or open an existing one
2

Add Score Layer

In the left toolbar select “Add Score” or click on the ”+” icon and select the Score Layer
3

Position

Drag the counter to your desired location
4

Customize

Rename your layer or set a custom text
5

Save

Save your overlay and update the counter in the toolbar over the layer when something happens in-game

Letting Your Mods Help

One of Vision’s unique features is collaboration. You can grant your moderators permission to help manage counters.
  1. Go to Permissions → Roles
  2. Use a prebuilt role or create a custom one. Make sure the role has the permission to view overlays and edit them, or only allow modifying scores
  3. Click on users and invite your moderator

Styling

Vision allows styling all layers, including counters. You can change the font, color, background color, and in-/out-animations. Counter layers also have a Mono-Font, which is used for the numbers. Via Advanced → Theme you can select one of the other presets or style it the way you want with Custom CSS.

Stream Deck Integration

Vision also supports Stream Deck devices. You can install the Vision Stream Deck Plugin to interact with your overlay layers and modify your counters in real-time.

Chat-Bot

The Vision Chat-Bot feature allows you to create commands that read or modify your counters. For example, you can create a command that returns the current score of your counter. You can also create timers that update the counter at a certain time interval.
