How to Use Giveaways
Vision Giveaways let you run contests where viewers can participate through chat. Set up entry requirements, configure luck multipliers for different user types, and randomly select winners - all from your dashboard.
Getting Started
Go to Giveaways
In the Vision dashboard, click Giveaways in the sidebar
Start a Giveaway
Click Start Giveaway to open the setup dialog
Configure entry method
Choose how viewers enter (keyword or active users)
Set up prize
Add prize details - name, image, and link
Adjust settings
Configure luck multipliers and participant limits
Launch
Start the giveaway and announce it to your chat
Entry Types
Keyword Entry
Viewers type a specific word in chat to enter:
- Set a keyword (e.g., “!giveaway”, “enter”, “!win”)
- Only viewers who type the keyword participate
- Prevents accidental entries
Active Users
Automatically includes active chatters:
- Anyone chatting is eligible
- Set an inactivity timeout (e.g., viewers silent for 5 minutes are removed)
- Great for rewarding engaged viewers
Luck Multipliers
Give certain viewer types better odds of winning:

Open settings
In the giveaway setup, find the luck multiplier section
Set multipliers
Adjust the multiplier for each user type
Enable user types
Toggle which user types can participate
Giveaway Settings
| Setting | Description |
|---|
| Max Participants | Limit how many can enter (optional) |
| Inactivity Timeout | Remove inactive users after X seconds (active users mode) |
| Chat Announcements | Post winner to chat automatically |
| Unique Winners | Prevent same person winning multiple times |
| Remove Spammers | Filter out spam entries |
Selecting Winners
Click Pick Winner
When ready, click the Pick Winner button
Winner is selected
A random winner is chosen based on luck multipliers
Announce
The winner is shown and optionally announced in chat
Pick more winners
Select additional winners if giving away multiple prizes
Multi-Channel Giveaways
Run giveaways across multiple Twitch channels:
- In giveaway setup, click Channels
- Select additional channels to include
- Viewers from all selected channels can participate
- Great for collaborations and raids
Chat Announcements
Enable automatic chat announcements:
- Winner announcement - Posts winner username to chat
- Customizable message - Format the announcement as needed
Letting Your Mods Help
- Go to Permissions → Roles
- Create or select a role with giveaway permissions
- Invite your moderators
- They can start giveaways and pick winners
Tips
Set a clear keyword that’s easy to type but unlikely to be said accidentally (e.g., “!giveaway” instead of “yes”).
Use unique winners when giving away multiple prizes to spread the love across your community.
Reward loyalty by setting higher multipliers for subscribers - it encourages subscriptions while keeping the giveaway fair.
Save your settings - Vision remembers your giveaway configuration for quick reruns.
