# Stream Soundboard

> Play sound effects on your Twitch stream. Upload and trigger audio clips through your OBS overlay.

## Soundboard

The Vision soundboard lets you upload and play sound effects through your overlays. Play alert sounds, reactions, music clips, or any audio file directly to your stream.

## Getting Started

<Steps>

    Go to the overlay editor

    Click the **Soundboard** button in the toolbar

  <Step title="Upload sounds">
    Click **Upload** and select audio files from your computer
  </Step>

  <Step title="Play a sound">
    Click on any sound to play it through connected devices

## Uploading Sounds

### Supported Formats

* MP3
* WAV
* OGG
* M4A

### Upload Process

1. Click **Upload** in the soundboard panel
2. Select one or more audio files
3. Wait for upload to complete
4. Sounds appear in your soundboard library

## Playing Sounds

### Basic Playback

1. Find the sound you want to play
2. Click the **Play** button
3. Sound plays through all connected devices

### Playback Controls

| Control    | Description                |
| ---------- | -------------------------- |
| **Play**   | Start playing the sound    |
| **Stop**   | Stop the sound immediately |
| **Volume** | Adjust playback volume     |

## Targeting Connections

Choose where sounds play:

### All Connections

Sound plays on every connected device (default)

### Specific Connections

1. Click the connection selector
2. Choose which connections receive the sound
3. Only selected devices will play the audio

This is useful when you want sounds on your stream but not on a preview monitor.

## Managing Sounds

### Organizing Your Library

* **Search** - Find sounds by name
* **Preview** - Listen before playing on stream
* **Delete** - Remove sounds you no longer need

## Tips

  **Normalize your audio** before uploading. Consistent volume levels prevent sounds from being too quiet or blasting your viewers.

  **Use short, punchy sounds** for reactions. Long audio clips can overlap awkwardly if triggered multiple times.

  **Test volume levels** before going live. Play sounds while monitoring your stream audio to ensure they're balanced.

  **Organize by category** - Name your sounds descriptively (e.g., "alert-sub", "reaction-laugh", "music-intro").

## Troubleshooting

### Sound not playing?

1. **Check connections** - Ensure devices are connected to the overlay
2. **Check volume** - Make sure volume isn't set to 0%
3. **Check browser** - Some browsers block autoplay until user interaction

### Sound too quiet/loud?

1. Adjust the volume slider before playing
2. Re-upload with normalized audio levels
3. Check your OBS audio mixer settings
